That’s very nice, and quite touching. As someone who bailed when it felt like Taiwan had no room for a single foreign male, it’s interesting for me to see how your journey has gone, and that you succeeded. I know it has taken great patience, perseverance, and an unwavering drive for you to attain the goal of becoming a citizen of Taiwan. Well done. As you know, there’s no place quite like Taiwan, and I hope it’s very rewarding for you to reap the benefits of that ineffable ‘it’-ness as you live out your life.

You seem to be embracing politics more and more. I’d always pegged you as the future mayor of Xindian.

There is no more Xindian City, my liege. ‘Tis now part of Xinbei City, or, as the heathen like to call it, “New Taipei City”.
